| 설명 | 대기압보다 높은 기압환경을 인공적으로 만들어 그 안에서 고농도의 산소를 흡입시키는 요법. 한국에서 연탄가스로 대표되는 일산화탄소의 급성중독의 치료에 많이 이용된 것으로, 보통 3대기압 정도로 가압된 고압산소실이나 고압산소탱크 속에 환자를 놓고 전신에 산소를 흡입시킨다. 고압실은 크고 작은 여러 가지가 있으며, 구조상 1실식-2실식-다실식이 있다. 가압 가스의 종류에는 산소-공기-혼합 가스등이 있고, 2~3 대기압 또는 그 이상의 고압 환경을 만든다. 임상적으로 응용범위가 넓어서 기계적 효과에 의하여 잠수부병이나 창자관마비에 의한 창자폐색 치료 등에 유효하고, 가스궤저 등의 무산소성 세균감염에서도 이용된다. 또 산소운반효과에 의하여 일산화탄소-심근경색-뇌색전증-출혈쇼크에 의한 급성의 조직산소결핍의 치료에 유효하다. 또 암의 방사선요법에 병용하면 이 요법으로 암세포의 분열이 왕성해져, 세포분열 중인 세포에 방사선을 조사함으로써 분열능력을 없애는 데 유효하여 고압산소흡입조사법이라고 한다. |

| 설명 | 혈액 속에 있는 쓸개즙색소인 빌리루빈의 총 농도가 정상보다 많아진 상태. 빌리루빈에는 글루크론산과 화합한 직접빌리루빈(정상 0.4mg/dL 이하)과 그렇지 않은 간접빌리루빈(정상 0.8mg/dL 이하)의 두 종류가 있는데, 혈액 속의 두 빌리루빈을 합한 총 농도가 정상수치인 1.2mg/dL보다 많아진 것을 말한다. 빌리루빈이 황색을 띠므로 고빌리루빈혈증은 황달로서 특징지어진다. 고빌리루빈혈증에 의한 황달은 그 원인에 따라 용혈황달, 간세포황달, 폐색황달로 나눈다. 용혈황달은 말초혈액에서 적혈구가 많이 파괴되면서 빌리루빈이 많아져서 생기게 되는 것이다. 간세포황달은 간세포가 손상되어 빌리루빈을 처리하고 배설시키는 기능이 저하되어 생기는 것이다. 대표적인 예는 급성바이러스간염이다. 폐색황달은 빌리루빈이 배설되는 통로인 쓸개관이 좁아지거나 막혀서 쓸개즙이 배설되지 못하여 생기는 것이다. 대표적인 예는 쓸개돌(담석)증, 쓸개길염 등이다. 용혈황달 때에는 혈액 속에 간접빌리루빈이, 간세포황달 때에는 간접빌리루빈과 직접 빌리루빈이, 폐색황달 때에는 직접빌리루빈이 주로 증가한다. |

| 설명 | 콜레스테롤의 과잉섭취나 콜레스테롤 대사장애로 인해 혈액 속의 콜레스테롤이 정상치를 넘는 상태. 혈액 중의 콜레스테롤의 정상치는 인종-성별-연령에 따라 다르고 일반적으로 중년 이후에는 동맥벽이나 결합조직에 침착된다. 보통 동양인에서는 혈액 1dL당 약 130~250mg으로 되어 있다. 흔히 콩팥증후군-쓸개길폐색-갑상샘기능저하증-동맥경화증 등에서 볼 수 있다 유전성으로 가족성고콜레스테롤혈증이 있으며, 특이한 증세는 없으나 동맥경화증을 일으키기 쉽다. |

| 설명 | 어느 국소의 혈관 주로 동맥 내를 흐르는 혈액량이 늘어나고 있는 상태. 국소에 흘러드는 동맥성의 혈액량을 늘리기 위해서는 그것을 나르는 동맥을 확장하지 않으면 안된다. 동맥벽의 수축-확장은 근육층 자체의 생리적 기능과 이것을 지배하는 혈관운동신경의 작용에 의해서 생긴다. 신경작용을 통해서 생기는 동맥의 확장에는 동맥을 수축시키는 신경의 마비에 의해서 생기는 것과 동맥을 확장시키는 신경의 긴장에 의해서 생기는 것이 있다. 전자를 신경마비성 충혈, 후자를 신경긴장성 충혈이라고 한다. 염증인 경우에 볼 수 있는 충혈을 염증성 충혈이라고 한다. 장기조직의 기능항진이 있을 때에는 반드시 그 국소에 대한 혈액관류량이 늘어 충혈을 일으킨다. 이것을 기능적 충혈이라고 한다. 허파, 콩팥 등에서 한쪽의 장기에 대한 혈액관류량이 감소한 경우에 다른 쪽 장기에 혈액이 과잉으로 흘러드는 충혈을 대상성 충혈이라고 한다. 어느 국소의 혈액정지 또는 빈혈의 경우, 부근조직에 생기는 충혈을 방측성 충혈이라고 한다. |
