| 설명 | 생물체 안에 존재하며 물에 녹지 아니하고, 유기용매에 녹는 유기화합물을 통틀어 이르는 말. 좁은 의미로는 물에 녹지 않고 알코올, 콜로로포름이나 에테르, 벤젠 등의 비극성용매에 녹는 지방산의 에스테르로 생체에 이용되는 유기화합물이다. 단순지질, 복합지질(인지질, 당지질, 지단백) 및 유도지질(지질의 가수분해산물)로 분류된다. 특히 중성지방은 지방산과 글리세린과의 에스테르로 단백질과 당과 함께 생체의 주요성분 및 에너지원으로서 중요하다. 광의로는 스테로이드 등을 포함해서 호르몬, 비타민 류로서 작용하는 것 등으로 다양한 생리학적 기능을 담당하고 있다. |
